My first encounter with Ginger Taylor was through a mutual friend. Within the first or second time we had met, she was inviting my family over for dinner at her home. The conversation was easy and engaging and I immediately trusted her as a friend. You will quickly find this book to be engaging in the same way, as though Ginger is sitting in your living room sharing funny stories as well as past trials because she cares for you, personally. A few years ago, I attended a very informal bible study that Ginger hosted for a group of friends. She led lively discussions about topics that many people shy away from or find too awkward to discuss in front of others. It was evident that she has a passion for helping women and marriages. In this book, she has taken on the topic of submission, which has been perverted in our culture to elicit thoughts of inferiority, lower value, lack of importance, and loss of freedom. Through scripture, she weaves a clear picture of what our amazing God had in store for us when He designed marriage. And while the book is titled The Woman’s Curse, you will see the blessings that come from submitting yourself to God and to your husband, as an act of worship and reverence to the Lord. I spend several hours each week talking with women in my daily clinical practice and through biblical counseling sessions. Marriages are suffering. It is obvious that many women either have never been taught their role or are afraid to embrace it due to some misconceptions. This book presents our helper role as a gift from God that will transform your marriage if you faithfully trust in God’s promises.
